Tuscany, 2013

2013 was an excellent Tuscany vintage.

Yields were down as a rain-affected spring caused uneven flowering and mildew. The growing season was characterized by an untypically slow ripening period due to a cooler than average spring and summer, which kept acidity levels up and fresh, without excessive sugar. One of the best vintages since 2001, with ripe, balanced wines in many areas.
