Tuscany, 2005

2005 was a goodish Tuscan vintage, but very tricky for growers who struggled with irregular weather, including hail, which caused rot and mould. Chianti producers experienced a cold, wet pre-harvest time.

Those producers who could afford to spend time and money in the vineyards produced the best wines. Montepulciano was the pick of the crop.
