Estate Notes

Vincent Girardin's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2010 comes from a good white Burgundy year – a classic ‘cool climate’ vintage that produced a small crop of well-balanced, light whites with good acidity, nice fruit weight and freshness.

Vincent Girardin is an extremely talented owner/ winemaker who combines skills passed down from a long tradition of family winemaking with modern new thinking: and in a few short years his wines have reached the heady levels of more illustrious domaine-bottled estates in Burgundy.

Reviews

"Pale, bright yellow. Crushed stone, lime blossom and saline minerality on the nose, complicated by ineffable high notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. At once dense and weightless, with powerful acidity giving the wine outstanding cut but completely shutting down the middle palate today. This powerfully stony expression of the cru stains the palate on the long, rising, perfumed aftertaste." Stephen Tanzer
