Estate Notes

Two Hands Zippy's Block Shiraz 2007 is one of Two Hands' flagship series wines - a single vineyard Shiraz made exclusively from fruit sourced from a single vineyard - the esteemed Marananga in the Barossa Valley. An exceptional Shiraz - concentrated, complex and sophisticated and one of Australia's finest wines.

Two hands was established by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz in 1999 in order to make the best possible Shiraz in Australia; and in just ten years their eclectically named wines have consistently won rave reviews. In fact, Two Hands Wines were listed in Wine Spectator's Top 100 for the last five years and Robert Parker further heaped the praise on, pronouncing Two Hands as "the finest negociant operation south of the equator."

“The 2007 Shiraz Zippy’s Block from Roennfeldt Road in the Marananga sub region of Barossa Valley, is a brooding, burly wine with a splendid nose of plum, tar, licorice, smoke, game, and blueberry. On the palate it is surprisingly restrained, bordering on elegant. Savory, ripe, and medium-long...”

“This spicy red is distinctive for its star anise and cigar box overtones around a plump, chewy core of blackberry, plum and dried blueberry flavors, persisting through a solid frame of fine tannins.” Wine Spectator
