Estate Notes

Two Hands’ Bella's Garden Shiraz 2004 comes from the estate's 'Garden series'; their super premium range of Shiraz from one of the finest Shiraz growing regions in Australia, the Barossa Valley.

Two Hands was established by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz in 1999 in order to make the best possible Shiraz in Australia, and in just ten years their eclectically named wines have consistently won rave reviews. Bella’s Garden is the most awarded wine in the Two Hands’ portfolio, helping Two Hands to reach the momentous achievement of scoring a place in the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines for ten years in a row, the only winery in the world to ever achieve this feat.

This outstanding achievement is accompanied by consistently excellent reviews and score ratings from some of the most acclaimed critics across the globe. Robert Parker further heaped the praise on, pronouncing Two Hands as "the finest negociant operation south of the equator."

Reviews

"Very strong, deep, purple-red; a full-bodied, luscious array of blackberry, plum and licorice; supple, ripe tannins. Just copes with the alcohol." James Halliday

"#10 on the Top 100 Wines of 2006** Dark, deep and impressively focused, a massive wall of delicious fruit -- cherry, pomegranate, raspberry and red plum are among the first to appear -- tempered with refined tannins that let the flavors sail on and on through the extended finish. Best from 2007 through 2020." Wine Spectator

From the Barossa, the inky/ruby/purple-hued 2004 Shiraz Bella’s Garden offers notions of mint, blackberries, smoke, dusty earth, and a distinctive licorice and creme de cassis character. This layered, full-bodied, powerful (all of these wines have 15-16% alcohol), stunningly complex, rich, impressive Shiraz..." Robert Parker

"Dark purple. Powerful red fruit scents, with strong suggestions of kirsch and white pepper. Densely packed flavors of candied strawberry and raspberry preserves are given focus and definition by bracing acids and fine tannins. This very young shiraz finishes on bright, tangy notes of pomegranate and rhubarb. I'd give this wine at least a few years in the cellar to flesh out." Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
