Estate Notes

Taylor's 1983 is in good condition for the year.

Taylor's Vintage Ports are renowned as the longest lived of Port styles - with massive structure and flavour concentration - they are distinctively masculine.

Taylor's, which remains an independent family-run business since its inception around 300 years ago, is also the market brand leader; one of the earliest shippers to acquire vineyards to produce the wine themselves, rather than merely buying from winemakers and then maturing it, thus ensuring a name synonymous with quality.

"The 1983 is wonderfully aromatic and so perfumed (a characteristic of this charming vintage), yet powerful, long and deep on the palate. It gives every indication of being an early-maturing Taylor, but I wouldn't want to drink it before 1995." eRobertParker.com

"Deep ruby-purple, ripe raisin and violet aromas, full-bodied, with sweet raisin and grape flavors, a lovely balance of full tannins and an explosion of fruit on the finish." Wine Spectator
