Estate Notes

Taylor’s Vintage Port 1977 was purchased in its original wooden cases.

Taylor's vintage ports are renowned for their massive structure, concentration of flavour and distinctively masculine style. Taylor's Port is also renowned for being amongst the longest lived of all ports.

Taylor's, which remains an independent family-run business since its inception around 300 years ago, is also the market brand leader. It is one of the earliest shippers to acquire vineyards to produce the wine themselves, rather than merely buying from winemakers and then maturing it, thus ensuring a name synonymous with quality.

"There is an explosion of fruit and tannins in the mouth but at the same time this wine is in total harmony. Deep dark ruby, with blackberries and violets on the nose, full-bodied, with masses of blackberry flavors, full, hard tannins and a very long finish." Wine Spectator

"This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. The 1977 has consistently been at the top of my list of vintage ports in this great vintage..." eRobertParker.com
