Estate Notes

Campfire's Cask Aged Gin was rested for 22 days in American oak (ex-bourbon) casks, which adds further complexity to the flavour and aroma. It won a Silver Medal Winner at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (2018), and harks back to a time when gins were shipped and sold in oak casks (prior to the 1861 Single Bottle Act).

Campfire Gin is a multiple award-winning range crafted by Ben and Kate Marston at the Puddingstone Distillery (named after a rare, local rock formation in the Chiltern Hills). Each gin is only made in small batches from carefully selected botanicals, including rich rooibos, fresh orange, hazelnut and piney juniper, and is distilled using the finest UK wheat spirit.

The Puddingstone Distillery is situated near the attractive market town of Tring in Hertfordshire and surrounded by the outstanding beauty of the Chiltern Hills. In true distilling tradition Ben and Kate have named their stills. A 50-litre still called Isabella and a 200 litre still called Amelia, both named after two great adventurers – Isabella Lucy Bird and Amelia Earhart.

Reviews

A lovely golden gin, with notes of vanilla, caramel and soft bourbon. Serve neat, over ice, or combine a single measure of Campfire Cask Aged, ice, 100ml of Fever-Tree Ginger Ale, two dashes of chocolate bitters, and garnish with a slice of fresh lime.

Silver Medal Winner at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (2018).
