Philip Togni's fine red Napa Valley wines are renowned for their superb elegance and poise.
Philip Togni is one of the most respected of Napa's Valley's (and California's) wine estates and one of the oldest, being established in 1981 by Philip Togni himself, although the first vines on the land the estate occupies at 2000 feet (near the top of Spring Mountain in the western hills) were planted at the end of the 19th century. The oldest vines on the estate in the modern era were planted in 1985 and farmed with organic pracices.
The estate is still run by Philip Togni and his wife Birgitta, now joined by their daughter Lisa. Philip is a former student of Emile Peynaud at the University of Bordeaux (a student of the famed Emile Peynaud) where he earned the Diplôme National d’Oenologie, while working at Château Lascombes, before arriving in the Napa Valley in 1959.
