Château Veyry

A garage wine in the truest sense of the meaning, small in scale and completely hand-crafted. Winemaker Christian Veyry uses a tiny winery to produce wines to rival its more illustrious Saint-Émilion neighbours. Made with fruit grown on a 4 hectare plot of south-facing vines along the same limestone ridge upon which the great Saint-Émilions are based. The 2012 release has all the hallmarks of the region; flavours of blackcurrant, black cherry and kirsch and heady violet high notes with hints of cigar leaf, black pepper, mocha and cinnamon, and deep, fresh minerality.
