Château l'Eglise Clinet

Château L'Eglise Clinet is one of the least known of Pomerol estates due to its size, yet ranks amongst the finest châteaux in all of Pomerol. L'Eglise Clinet’s vines (averaging 40 years old) produce fine juicy red Bordeaux of uncommon generosity.
The now late winemaker Denis Durantou, who had been making wine here since 1982, brought l'Eglise Clinet to the pinnacle of Pomerol producers with consistently stunning wines, yet you wouldn’t have known it from his jovial, engaging, down-to-earth attitude. Gazing across Denis' vines, on a previous trip, to the iconic Pomerol church, we found his estate set in absolute peace and tranquillity (a quaint, walled cemetery being the neighbour!). It’s easy to see why Denis became so attached to this boutique estate on Pomerol's plateau.
