Château Calon Ségur

Château Calon-Ségur is a third growth Bordeaux situated in Saint-Estèphe on Bordeaux's left bank. Calon-Ségur produces two reds: the grand vin Château Calon-Ségur and the second wine the Marquis de Calon.
Calon-Ségur's heart emblem emanates from the 17th century, when the Marquis Nicolas de Ségur, the 'Prince of Vines', who already owned Lafite and Latour, took control and declared: "I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart belongs to Calon."
More recently, Calon-Ségur had been under the iron grip of Madame Capbern-Gasqueton, a great legend of Calon-Ségur and Saint-Estèphe, who passed away in 2012. Today, Château Calon Ségur is owned by the Suravenir company, a subsidiary of the banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa headed by Jean-Pierre Denis. (The insurance company joined forces with the Videlot group.)
