“The range is excellent and I don’t just mean that they go right to the very top. There’s something for everyone, whether you want mature first-growth Bordeaux or a little known gem from an estate that’s been in the same family for generations and which you’d be hard-pushed to find anywhere else other than at the cellar door. I’m always finding things I want to try on Cadman’s list.”

The Wine Gang,

"Many wine merchants proclaim 'fine wines' rather meaninglessly in their name, but Cadman does so with thewinegang – and what we like about the business is that 'fine' doesn't just mean famous. The first growths and their ilk are here, but in company with some excellent, less well-known, sometimes very limited production wines and often at what seem very reasonable prices. Another plus-point is that there is no minimum order, so you can buy a single bottle if you want. Delivery is a straightforward £6.99 for orders under £100 (UK mainland); free above"

Tom Cannavan,

"Cadman's web site gives you plenty of information and tasting notes and they really do have a beautifully chosen portfolio so it is easy to put together a great case of wine....intelligently and skillfully sourced by an international team of experts..."

Chris Kissack,

"...Cadman Fine Wines has been trading online for several years now, and the website and business appear to be going from strength to strength. Established in 2004 by Giles Cadman under the umbrella of the Venulum Group, a private company providing investment services in property and wine, Cadman Fine Wines was created to provide a retail service to complement the well-established investment business.

"At the helm of the group is Giles himself, a man with a clear and innate passion for wine, aided by sales and marketing manager Paul Trimming, among others. The list blends blue-chip names with some less familiar, the likes of Langoa-Barton, Beaucastel and Armand Rousseau sitting very nicely with competing bottles from less famous and this more affordable names. All these wines are available on the Cadman site, and at the time of writing one or two of them are included in the ongoing sale, with a quid or two knocked off the price. And it is worthy of mention that there is no minimum purchase limit, so if it is just one bottle that takes your fancy, then that is all you need to buy, a feature of which Cadman is especially proud."

"The focus here is classic styles from classic regions...What is delightful about the list, however, is that it avoids being another carbon-copy rundown of each region, listing only the famous names with exorbitant prices. There are lesser known efforts too; wines classified as Rosso di Toscana and Côtes de Bourg alongside the Chianti Classico and the Pomerol. It is a refreshing approach, delivered in a stylish fashion; the website is elegant, user-friendly and quick."

Jamie Goode,

"Cadman Fine Wines is an impressive new wine merchant, with a fantastic website and a compact, hand-selected range of largely modern European classics."

"Quality is merely a starting more than merely words - they do seem to have a real commitment to sourcing their wines. The wine list is extensive covering a wide range from New and Old World, some classic fine Bordeaux and Burgundies together with an eclectic mix of lesser-known wines such as Spanish Jumilla DO, French Cour-Cheverny AC and Otago wines from South Island, New Zealand. Yet for each and every wine there are thoughtful tasting notes and good background information - very impressive."

"Cadman Fine Wines stands for quality and exclusivity in their selection of carefully sourced wines. With a strapline that 'Quality is merely a starting point', their wine list is true to these words."

"Classic labels from famous names and regions stand alongside wines that might not have been seen before in the UK. Shortlisted by Decanter as Online Merchant of the Year, this slick site is a welcome change with its focused buying."
