Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 2011 was purchased in its original wooden case.
Pierre-Yves is the eldest son of the legendary Marc Colin, and worked at his father's great estate for ten years to learn his trade before establishing his own domaine which he inherited from the family in 2005. Since that time, Pierre-Yves has risen to one of Burgundy's finest wine producers, and his mineral-driven Chardonnays seem to somehow improve with every vintage. His trademark use of large demi-muid barrels, renders each wine a clear and wonderful expression of his great terroir.
"Here the expressive and solidly layered nose proffers a pretty combination of honeysuckle, white peach, pear and subtle spice hints. There is a wonderfully seductive character to the round and mouth coating flavors that possess a suave texture on the powerful, intense and impeccably well-balanced finish. This too is textbook quality." Burghound
