Bourée's 2018 1er Cru Les Perrieres is a wonderfully traditional rendition of this classic Burgundian style from a great white Burgundy vintage.
Meursault has historically been Burgundy's centre for premium white wine production, and Bourée's 2018 vintage possesses a great balance of concentration and minerality. Les Perrieres is named after an old limestone quarry site, the remains of which lie in the western portion of the vineyard (pierre meaning stone), hinting at the minerality of the terroir and the minerally, stoney feel of the wines, which are renowned for their balance and elegance, rather than power.
Pierre Bourée still uses old wooden vats rather than stainless steel and the grapes are trodden by foot. And last but not least, Bourée only release their fine wines when they are ready to drink - a very refreshing practice in today's market.
Restrained but deep with floral, peachy and buttery orchard fruits and citrus, and fine minerality. Rich concentration with cut/balance, great depth of fruit and mineral base; very long and fresh in the lifted finish.
