Pierre Bourée's 2018 Marsannay is a lovely village wine; rich and warm with hints of honey, balanced by elegance and minerality. A fine entry-level white Burgundy.
Grapes for the 2018 Marsannay were picked by hand to ensure that only the finest produce made the grade, and the wine was aged in three-year-old oak barrels prior to release where it gained complexity and structure.
Marsannay is the most northerly appellation in the Côte de Nuits, and is the only Burgundian appellation to produce red, white and rosé wine. Pierre Bourée still uses old wooden vats rather than stainless steel and the grapes are trodden by foot. And last but not least, Bourée only release their fine wines when they are ready to drink - a very refreshing practice in today's market.
