Estate Notes

Pierre Bourée makes classic Cazetiers, and the 2012 is a wonderful example - an ‘iron fist in a silk glove’.

Bourée’s Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is also one of the finest premier crus in Gevrey-Chambertin, often approaching the grands crus in quality; one of the largest and most famous red wine producing villages in all of Burgundy. In the right hands Les Cazetiers is capable of producing wines of wonderful finesse and discreet power.

"...be sure and look for their Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers. It represents a special parcel of very old vines. It is decadently rich with an almost wild exotic character." Robert Parker, Burgundy, A Comprehensive Guide

Reviews

Recognised as pre-eminent among the premiers crus of Gevrey-Chambertin (and known locally as ‘Le Chambertin des pauvres’, to which I always reply ‘of the relatively poor’), this is a beautiful example, showing a full range of violet, blackcurrant and cherry fruit, and delicate musk and spice. Perfectly balanced concentration, with a silky full structure, and great length and breadth.
