Estate Notes

Pinot Beurot is the local Burgundian name for Pinot Gris, and here is a delicious but extremely rare example as so little remains planted in the Côte d'Or.

Bourée's vines, extending to under a quarter of an acre, are in Couchey at the northern end of the Côte de Nuits. Cadman's allocation of 120 bottles represents one quarter of the production in 2014. Reminiscent of the aromatic charm of Alsatian Pinot Gris, but more discreet and with Burgundian mineral freshness and expression of being vinified in barrel. More than an intriguing rarity, this is a real gastronomic delicacy to accompany white meats, sweetbreads, or fish in a beurre blanc sauce.

Reviews

Burgundian mineral freshness and complexity, with appealing barrel vinification nuances. Fresh pâtisserie notes of mineral peach and floral spice. Creamy fruit on the palate with a good backbone of acidity, and a lingering finish.

"Soft, ripe apple fruit and an easy, approachable balance. Plentiful flavour for the price."
