Estate Notes

Louis Jadot's 2002 Bonnes-Marres is a rich, full-bodied Pinot Noir.

Louis Jadot is one of the world's most prestigious Burgundy négociants, accounting for around 150 wines from their own Burgundian vineyards as well as blending wines from fruit sourced from high-quality growers – who have to maintain excellent fruit production year after to year to be acceptable to Jadot. Refreshingly, there is no house style, and each Jadot wine is totally unique.

The appellation of Bonnes-Marres covers just fifteen hectares of vineyards: the majority being situated in Chambolle-Musigny, with a few hectares spilling over into nearby Morey-Saint-Denis.

"Armed with huge quantities of fruit and perfectly ripened tannin, the medium to full-bodied 2002 Bonnes Mares explodes from the glass with stunning aromas of candied blueberries, rocks, and red cherries. This massive, broad, enormously rich wine could ultimately, like the Chapelle and Clos de Beze, earn a perfect score. Its velvety waves of sensual red and black fruits are interspersed with nuanced notes of spices, mocha, flowers, and minerals. While enormously powerful and ripe, it magically retains its freshness and sports an ethereal quality that is difficult to put into words. It is a tour de force in winemaking!" eRobertParker.com
