Estate Notes

The re-appearance of one of the favourite white wine values amongst the Cadman range, the 2015 release of the Jose Pariente Verdejo highlights the concentration and intensity of the vintage, courtesy of the favourable long growing season that much of Europe experienced, whilst still retaining the delightful freshness and vivacity, as well as varietal definition that have made this wine so popular and successful over the years.

As ever, our team tasted the range from Pariente, and it was the indigenous Verdejo, the ‘flagship wine of the house’, which once again won through thanks to its aromatics, balance & minerality giving it, in our opinion, far more interest and stand-out value for money than their Sauvignon Blanc.

Delightful intensity of elegant, focussed, fresh white fruit aromas: pear, peach, citrus and passion fruit, with a lovely floral, minerally, saline edge. The palate continues in a similar concentrated theme, with the richness of fruit, notably white peach and grapefruit, underpinned by a very appealing zesty freshness and depth, with an impressive balance and persistence and hint of thyme / tarragon / herbs around the edge. A great expression of the grape, terroir and the skills of the team here. Felicitaciones!
