Estate Notes

Persia is Fondrèche's flagship wine drawn from its finest terroir, a heady concoction crafted predominantly from Syrah, with plenty of development potential in bottle to build further complexity and structure.

Sébastien Vincenti and Nanou Barthélemy’s Domaine de Fondrèche is widely recognised as one of the very best producers in the Ventoux appellation. What is more, their wines remain exceptional value, despite the ever increasing fame and demand.

Winemaker Sebastien Vincenti loves his terroir and believes that his vines are stronger when treated naturally, including 100% organic manure, no chemical herbicides, and complimentary planting between rows to prevent erosion, promote microbial life and aerate the soil.

Reviews

“…a blockbuster Persia, overflowing with plum and blueberry fruit, yet not heavy or simple. Black olives and espresso beans also make appearances, all buttressed by ripe tannins and a velvety texture…supple enough to be approachable now but expect fireworks with a few years of cellaring.” eRobertParker.com

Ripe but fresh concentration of blackcurrant, kirsch, violet and lavender aromas, with rich refined spice and notes of liquorice, black olive and leather, and fine mineral depth. Elegant palate, creamy, velvety and balanced, very deep and mineral in the centre, with a long intense development, and a very long and fresh mineral finish.
