Estate Notes

Persia is Fondrèche's flagship wine drawn from its finest terroir, a heady concoction crafted predominantly from Syrah, with plenty of development potential in bottle to build further complexity and structure.

Sébastien Vincenti and Nanou Barthélemy’s Domaine de Fondrèche is widely recognised as one of the very best producers in the Ventoux appellation. What is more, their wines remain exceptional value, despite the ever increasing fame and demand.

Winemaker Sebastien Vincenti loves his terroir and believes that his vines are stronger when treated naturally, including 100% organic manure, no chemical herbicides, and complimentary planting between rows to prevent erosion, promote microbial life and aerate the soil.

"Aromas of spice-tinged black and blue fruits display a suave floral quality. Chewy and focused on entry and then fleshier in the middle, offering juicy boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors that spread out nicely on the back half. Rich yet lively, delivering strong finishing punch, dusty tannins and a late suggestion of olive paste."

Deep aromas displaying both raspberry and black fruits and dense spice, supported by freshness and minerality. Very ample, powerful and long palate, balanced and refined with velvety structure and depth, and aromatic notes of violet, raspberry and blackcurrant and exotic spice.
