Le Fonti's entry level young vines 2018 Sangiovese is a fleshy, juicy mouthful and great value-for-money - a great introduction to this truly impressive range of fine wines from this stable - and a fruity red wine that improves with every vintage.
Le Fonti was bought in the mid 1950s by the Imberti family and the current owners, Franca and Ferdinando also manage a business in Milan but actively follow the work at the estate. They have invested heavily and replanted solely with Sangiovese in the 1990s, and in their search for excellence they appointed young agronomist, Lorenzo Bernini and employ the famed and talented oenologist Paolo Caciorgna.
It is particularly warmer here than other Chianti growing areas such as Panzano or Radda, the berries ripen earlier and are perhaps more fleshy and generous.

Limpid ruby colour, offering ripe and appealing black cherry and raspberry aromas, with scents of rose and herbal notes, and delicate spice and leather beneath over a fresh mineral base. Delightful fruit on front and centre, supple, balanced and highly drinkable, with light kirsch and spice behind, and a savoury and floral finish.
