Dufouleur Frères’ Le Fouleur Pinot Noir is a great introduction to their range – an early drinking Pinot packed with immediate appeal.
Made principally from grapes grown in Côte d'Or and the Côte Chalonnaise, this elegant and refined Bourgogne Rouge has good body and classic red fruit aromas. Part of the blend is aged from 6 to 12 months in oak barrels and the aging is then completed in stainless steel vats in order to return the lithe freshness indispensable to an early-drinking wine.
The Dufouleur family has a long history of winemaking in Burgundy and the family can be traced back to 1596 and the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The original family name fouleur literally means grape crusher (depicted on the label), and this manual trade was practiced until the end of the 19th century.
