Estate Notes

Dow's 1985 Vintage Port is in very good condition for the year.

Dow's Vintage Ports, aged in wood for approximately two years and bottled unfiltered. The house has followed a policy of investing in premium quality vineyards for over a century, and was one of the first port houses to buy quintas (vineyards) in the remote eastern reaches of the Douro Valley at the end of the 19th century.

The backbone of Dow's Vintage Ports is drawn from the company's finest vineyards - the Quinta do Bomfim and Senhora da Riberia – each property contributing to the wine's unique character and class.

"Powerful aromas of raisin, blackberry and dark chocolate follow through to a full body, with medium sweetness and a firm, slightly chewy finish. Good fruit. Even nutty." Wine Spectator
