Estate Notes

Dow's 1983 Vintage Port is in very good condition for the year.

Dow's Vintage Ports, aged in wood for approximately two years and bottled unfiltered. The house has followed a policy of investing in premium quality vineyards for over a century, and was one of the first port houses to buy quintas (vineyards) in the remote eastern reaches of the Douro Valley at the end of the 19th century.

The backbone of Dow's Vintage Ports is drawn from the company's finest vineyards - the Quinta do Bomfim and Senhora da Riberia – each property contributing to the wine's unique character and class.

"This is an extraordinary house that seems to have been particularly successful with its vintage port since 1977. The 1983 is rich, concentrated, very fruity, and magnificently perfumed." Robert Parker
