Estate Notes

Dow's Vintage Port 1970 comes from a great Port vintage.

For over a century Dow's has followed a policy of investing in premium quality vineyards, and was one of the first port houses to buy quintas (vineyards) in the remote eastern reaches of the Douro valley at the end of the 19th century.

The backbone of Dow's Vintage Ports is drawn from the company's finest vineyards - the Quinta do Bomfim and Senhora da Riberia – each property contributing to the wine's unique character and class.

Aged in wood for approximately 2 years and bottled unfiltered, Dow's Vintage Ports are considered to be amongst the finest Vintage Ports produced.

Reviews

"I have always been a fan of this very fine and well-made Port. Truly balanced in character, with focused flowers, spice and cherry. Full-bodied, with a sweet palate and a fine texture." Wine Spectator
