Estate Notes

Pingus is one of the world's greatest wines. A bespoke, garage wine that captures the concentrated essence of the finest Spanish terroir.

Just 500 cases of Pingus are nurtured each year by the genius Peter Sisseck who selects from three parcels of ancient Tempranillo vines, which are hand-pruned to produce miniscule yields. The soils have never been fertilised or treated with pesticides and are as natural as soils can be! A rare and very special wine.

Reviews

“Readers can look forward to a spectacular, nearly perfect 1999 Pingus. It boasts an opaque ruby/purple color, sensational extract, gorgeous concentration, and spectacularly intense blackberry and cherry aromas and flavors infused with incense, coffee, chocolate, and toasty new oak. Enormous levels of extract and richness are accompanied by a full-bodied, glycerin-imbued, thick, viscous finish. The tannin is nearly hidden by the wine's wealth of fruit and concentration.” Robert Parker

“Full medium ruby. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of cassis, plum, violet, minerals and clove oil. Wonderfully sweet and lush but with superb grip and vinosity, thanks to ripe, harmonious acidity. Already shows explosive inner-mouth flavors of dark berries, minerals and bitter chocolate. Finishes with superb length and sweetness.” Stephen Tanzer
