Estate Notes

Pingus is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest wines: the brainchild of Peter Sisseck who only established the estate in the mid-nineties.

Flor de Pingus is the second wine from this cult estate – an affordable introduction to the Pingus legend – crafted from very old Tinto Fino vines indigenous to the region.

Reviews

"The 2000 Flor de Pingus exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, a roasted meat/creosote-scented nose, and big, meaty, herb-tinged flavors that are both substantial and opulent. Fleshy and chewy, it is a hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on..." Robert Parker

“Good medium ruby. Explosive aromas of black cherry, roasted tomato, olive, game and nutty oak. Sweet, lush and gamey; a bit less densely packed than the young 2001 but still stuffed with fruit. Shows a syrah-like animal aspect.” Stephen Tanzer
