Domaine Yann-Chave Hermitage 2017
"Dense and almost opaque, with intense aromas of black current, blackberry, plum, mushroom, leather. Massive fruit hit on the palate - deep rich and complex fruit flavours and spice." David King
|Grape Blend||Syrah 100%|
Yann-Chave's Hermitage 2017 is made in tiny quantities, so getting just a few bottles to grace your cellar is a real treat.
Yann Chave is a passionate organic vigneron, who took over the estate from his father, which then became Yann-Chave in 2001.
The 2017 vintage comes from fruit grown from two parcels of vines, one in Baumes and the other in Péléat. Ageing is in 600 litre barrels for 12 months, which does not 'over oak' this fine red wine.

"Dense and almost opaque, with intense aromas of black current, blackberry, plum, mushroom, leather. Massive fruit hit on the palate; deep rich and complex fruit flavours and spice. The tannins are holding it all together and the freshness lifts the wine expressing the different layers of fruit and peppery spice to the full and super long finish." David King
