Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot, Saint Romain, La Perriere, Burgundy, France 2018
All the characteristics of a great Saint Romain, La Perière hails from just above Meursault and benefits from the extra altitude, particularly when the summer is hot. Fine fruit and a hint of oak, this is a refreshing and satisfying wine to enjoy over the next 4 years or so.

Jean-Marc Pillot's 2017 Saint Romain La Périère is a vibrant, elegant white Burgundy with a creamy texture and delicious citrus fruit.
The 2017 vintage was crafted from grapes bought from Stephane Aladame in Montagny, which he then vinifies in Chassagne.
Winemaker/owner Jean-Marc has been in charge of the family domaine since 1991, and is at the top of his game. His fine red and white Burgundian wines spend around 12 months in oak before a further 6 months in steel, where they gain precision and drive. His fine red and white Burgundy are made with a precise attention to detail, to the extent that Jean-Marc extended his winemaking facility so that the whites and reds can be vinified at different temperatures. His whites are fresh, aromatic and excellent value.
