Jean-Marc Pillot's Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 2014 was purchased in its original cases.
Winemaker/owner Jean-Marc has been in charge of the family domaine since 1991, and is at the top of his game. His wines spend around 12 months in oak before a further 6 months in steel, where they gain precision and drive. Les Chevenottes is situated at the northern end of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation at the base of the Montrachet hill, and typically produces rounded and medium-bodied whites, with nutty, herbaceous characters and real verve.
"Pale, bright yellow. Penetrating aromas of lemon, minerals and white flowers. More austere than the Chaumes, offering brisk, intense flavors of lime and crushed stone. Boasts terrific inner-mouth energy and finishes with palate-saturating minerality." Stephen Tanzer
