Estate Notes

Domaine Fourrey's Mont de Milieu 2014 vintage is a Gold Medal winner at the Decanter World Wine Awards, where it justifyably earned the following praise:

"Given the quality and reviews of 2014 white Burgundy, the prices of other good wines from this vintage, plus where the euro rate has gone in the last 3 months and where it’s headed for the foreseeable, this wine should represent a must buy for lovers of the finest white wine."

By contrast with the expansive and lush characteristics of the finest white Burgundies from the Côte d’Or, the wines of Chablis typically display a characteristic steely, stony, mineral content. Mont de Milieu is one of the best-sited premier crus, being adjacent to the group of Chablis grands crus.

Reviews

"The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet with white flower scents merging with citrus fruit and Granny Smith apples. The palate is crisp and fresh with fine acidity, a little tight and linear, but delivering satisfying tension and mineralité on the finish. This is worth checking out. It is a very well-crafted Mont de Milieu.” eRobertParker.com

“This is a ripe, rounded and aromatic wine, with just the right stretch of minerality and juicy citrus flavor. Crisp, tangy and refreshing in its fruitiness, the wine is rich and full, finishing with a final burst acidity.” Wine Enthusiast

“The young Jean-Luc Fourrey continues to make important strides in quality….I believe we will see further improvement in the years to come.” Burghound.com
