"...today there are forty lieu-dits..of these the longest established and still considered the best are Fourchaume, Montee de Tonnere and Mont de Milieu.....these wines are firm, nutty and steely." Clive Coates MW
“The young Jean-Luc Fourrey continues to make important strides in quality….I believe we will see further improvement in the years to come.” Burghound.com
Continuing with similarly impressive character as the 1er Cru Cote de Lechet, the Mont de Milieu offers up a slightly more floral, blossom noted aromatics to add to the ripe core of pear, apple, slightly crème anglaise notes, backed up the same minerality. The palate has a similar breadth of layers, with the acidity a little more accentuated and steely to counterbalance an increased spice / ripe fruit content. As with the Cote de Lechet, this has a wonderful poise, balance and length and a fine life ahead of it.
