Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts 2011 was purchased in its original cases.
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy's finest domaines. Acquired by Jacques Seysses in 1967, and today now comprises 28 acres in appellations including Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche, Clos St-Denis, Bonnes-Mares, and Echézeaux.
Jacques Seysses' approach is one of non-intervention, as he says: "Use knowledge and technology to counter accidents - for example, bad weather - but, if all is going well, don't interfere". Wise words indeed. Dujac's wines are neither filtered nor fined and noted for their exceptional fragrance, structure and longevity. Since 2012 Dujac has been certified as organic.
"The 2011 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts, which was tasted blind, was instantly identifiable as Dujac since that attractive stemmy character was evident on the nose, here intermixed with iodine, black fruit, tree bark and a hint of green bell pepper. The palate is medium-bodied and conveys the structure that one seeks in a Malconsorts." robertparker.com
"The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts is mid-weight, gracious and absolutey impeccable in its balance. Sweet tobacco, mint, red stone fruits, dried cherries and orange peel are some of the notes that inform the Malconsorts. Pliant and expressive on the palate, with highly expressive floral overtones, the Malconsorts is a gorgeous wine in 2011 and just as impressive at it was from barrel." Antonio Galloni
