Estate Notes

Dom Perignon 1998 was purchased in its original wooden cases.

Dom Perignon is Moët and Chandon’s top cuvée, named after the Benedictine monk & cellar master at Hautvillers, creator and refiner of sparkling wine making in the late 17th century.

The quality of Cuvée Dom Perignon is attributed to the fact that it is only made in truly exceptional vintage years from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; which are picked from only the very best crus of the entire region. Add to this the impressive winemaking skills of George Blanck, and it is no surprise that this 1996 offers something very special indeed. A rare Champagne for those very special occasions.

“A stronger vintage than expected, the 1998 Dom Perignon exhibits aromas and flavors of lemon oil, orange rind, and brioche in a mediumbodied, zesty, rich, moderately intense style. It is far superior to either the 1993 or 1992. Production is confidential, but there must be hundreds of thousands of cases of Dom Perignon since it available in most of the world’s luxury hotels and restaurants.” Robert Parker
