Estate Notes

Dalla Valle Vineyards' Maya 2012 is in excellent condition.

Dalla Valle Vineyards was established high above the Silverado Trail in Oakville by Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle in 1982, who were drawn to the ideal conditions for vine growing: long sunlight hours, a cooling marine influence and fertile volcanic soil. Michel Rolland is a consultant winemaker for the estate, whose wines, needless to say are on a waiting list.

“I don't think I need to reinforce the fact that these offerings are extremely difficult to find, but isn't that the way it always is with such extraordinary wines?…the stuff of legends. Life is too short not to drink a few bottles of Dalla Valle." Robert Parker

Reviews

"The 2012 Maya is a spectacular offering. I recently had the 1991 (made by Tony Soter) and it is still drinking exceptionally well. In fact, it could still be called an adolescent at 23 years of age. The 2012 Maya is already revealing great complexity with notes of forest floor, licorice, truffles, red and blackcurrants and a hint of graphite. The beautiful aromatics are followed by an equally majestic, full-bodied, multidimensional wine of great class and elegance. This sensational effort should drink well for 25-30 years." Robert Parker
