Estate Notes

2010 was another great Bordeaux vintage (following on from 2009) and Clos de Clocher took full advantage with a lovely, elegant Pomerol style and a wonderfully pure expression of the vineyard's terroir - perfect for short- medium-term drinking for the vintage.

Annual production is just 2000 cases and the legendary consultant Michel Rolland consistently produces wines of real elegance from a modest 7 hectares. In a diminishing field, this elegant style is one of Pomerols very best values, despite the fact that its fame is gaining on the back of excellent vintages like the stunning 2009. Snap this gem up while you still can!

“The 2010 exhibits plenty of blueberry and mocha-infused black cherry fruit with a hint of candied caramel. It is well-made, medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity, texture and richness. It is not a blockbuster Pomerol, by any means, but one of mid-weight style and undeniable elegance.”

"Dense and ripe, with layers of blackberry, plum and anise all carried by ample but velvety tannins. There's a long, nicely roasted finish." Wine Spectator

"Ripe and appealing on the nose. Modern allure. Suave, concentrated and lavishly fruity, with no excessive extraction. Very good clarity and depth of fruit, purity, length and natural vigour. A very good wine and there's plenty of grip on the finish." Decanter Magazine
