Estate Notes

Château Doisy Daëne 2005 comes from an excellent vintage in Sauternes and was purchased in its original wooden case.

The estate hs been in family hands since 1924  and is one of the most ambitiously and innovatively run estates in Bordeaux, Doisy Daëne produces a very fine wine Barsac that seems to be undervalued in the scheme of Barsac/Sauternes realities.

The owner, Denis Bourdieu, more than anyone else has totally revolutionized the making of white wine in the Bordeaux Region with his classic maceration pelliculaire.

"This is a great wine, but you would not expect anything else from Denis Dubourdieu. The nose is closed but has great definition. The palate displays exquisite balance, vibrant acidity, hints of almond and a tangible mineral core. Hints of beeswax and even kerosene towards the finish. Complex and engaging but always with supreme delineation and focus. Fabulous stuff."
