Estate Notes

Château Quinault l'Enclos' 2000 was purchased in its original wooden case and comes from a great Bordeaux vintage.

Quinault l'Enclos, under Alain and François Raynaud, has soared to new heights of quality since they took over in 1997. The key to their success has the been the meticulous attention to detail in both their walled vineyard and the cellars: including double sorting of grapes, 18 months ageing in new oak barrels, and bottling without fining or filtration to keep all the character of the Saint-Émilion land in the bottle.

But Alain and François also have some pretty special 60+ year-old vines to work with, and who better to help them maximise their wonderful Saint-Émilion soils than Michel Rolland and Denis Dubourdieu – two of Bordeaux’s top consultant winemakers.

Reviews

"...outstanding, fully mature St.-Emilion. Raspberry, black currant, and floral characteristics are accompanied by striking elegance." Robert Parker

"Complex aromas of earth, spice, meat and berries follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a long, delicious finish. Reserved and full of finesse." Wine Spectator
