Estate Notes

Château Louvie 2008 is one of Saint-Émilion’s outstanding values from an excellent right bank Bordeaux vintage and Christian’s 35-year-old vines really produced the goods. It is drinking beautifully right now.

Owner/ winemaker Christian Veyry crafts small quantities of seductive Saint-Émilion with bags of charm from an outstanding terroir, below the village of St Laurent-des-Combes, which was ignored by many Bordeaux growers until Christian showed its full potential. But Christian’s ability to craft wines of great quality has made Saint-Émilion’s top growers sit up and take notice.

Reviews

Very attractive floral notes with red cherry and black fruits to the fore. So succulent in the mouth with a rich core of spicy brambly fruits, melded supple tannins with an enticing moreish mouthfeel. Pleasing aromatic and mineral notes finish things off in real style.
