Estate Notes

Château Latour needs no introduction – a world famous brand whose label commands huge respect and often price tags to match. But there is more to Latour than its hugely marketable name and label.

Latour is the most consistent of the first growths in terms of quality. Even in difficult years it manages to create wines that put many of its neighbours in the shade, and in doing so, has justly earned its reputation among many critics as being the Haut-Médoc's finest wine.

"This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. Readers will find more fat, flesh, and glycerin than usual for a young Latour…"

"...a lovely, fragrant nose of cedar, leather, freshly rolled tobacco with just a hint of fresh coffee beans. Great precision. The palate is medium-bodied with find tannins, foursquare and “correct” yet very well balanced and focused with red-berried fruit and just hint of sour cherry and smoke on the finish."

"Classic Cabernet style. Intense aromas of plums and cherries, with hints of new wood. Full-bodied, with juicy and ripe tannins and a long finish. Very well-structured." Wine Spectator
