Château Lalande-Borie 2018
"Full-bodied with bags of black fruit, it has a plush frame and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy." eRobertParker.com
|Grape Blend||Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%|
Lalande-Borie is owned by the Borie family whose other properties include Ducru Beaucaillou, Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Haut-Batailley no less - and the same skill and management goes into the handling of this Saint-Julien gem - which has taken leaps in quality over recent years under their ownership.
Lalande-Borie is currently managed by Bruno Borie, and the 25 hectare vineyard is surrounded by classic Cru Classés, and typically produces smooth, rich wines that mature more quickly than its more famous siblings.

"The 2018 Lalande-Borie is pliant, supple and wonderfully inviting. Bright floral notes perk up the red/purplish berry fruit in a silky, succulent Saint-Julien that will drink well right out of the gate. In the glass, the 2018 is heady and alluring, and yet it retains its classic mid-weight personality and structure. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this jewel of a wine."
