Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 2006 was purchased in its original wooden case.
Château Lafaurie Peyraguey offers great quality and value-for-money Sauternes – a First Great Classified Growth and one of the appellation’s most prestigious labels. The estate is situated in the centre of the finest of Sauternes terroirs; a gravel terrace 70 metres above sea level, where the L’Enclos and Maisons Rouges plots represent the historic heart of the estate.
Owner Silvio Denz (a Basel businessman and CEO of Lalique), who bought the estate from the Suez group in 2014, has a passion for both winemaking and luxury goods. The 2013 vintage onwards, has a label based on an engraving entitled, ‘Woman and Grapes’ (dating from 28 September 1928), that appeared on the woodwork of sleeping cars on the Côte d’Azur Pullman Express.
"The 2006 Lafaurie Peyraguey has a complex bouquet: honey, white chocolate, quince and dried pineapple scents that billow from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with marmalade and bitter orange on the entry, a fine line of acidity with a harmonious mandarin and grapefruit finish that carries ample botrytis with it. This appears to have improved over the last couple of years, suggesting an upward trajectory in bottle? Worth checking out." robertparker.com" robertparker.com
