Estate Notes

Le Petit Cheval is Château Cheval Blanc's second wine and the 2000 vintage, which was purchased in its original wooden case, comes from a great year in Bordeaux.

Cheval Blanc is one of Bordeaux's most desireable wines, with a rich and illustrious history protected and currently being built upon by Pierre Lurton, one of Bordeaux's most talented winemakers. Under the current owners and rigorous stewadrship of Lurton, Cheval's 30+ year old vines are treated naturally, including no herbicides and natural fertiliser. Green harvesting and rigorous selection ensure that only the finest fruit reaches the cellar where the produce from each vineyard plot is vinified separately to preserve the character of each terroir.

"...lovely bouquet of blackberry, blueberry and crushed violets emerges and gains intensity with aeration. Fine tannins on the palate, cohesive but still quite backward with a surprisingly firm backbone and an austere finish." eRobertParker.com

"A fresh and fruity wine, with blackberry and cherry character, medium body and a clean finish. Pretty and delicious." Wine Spectator
