Olivier (grandson of Franck) Bonville’s 2010 Champagne shows all the pedigree and class of many more famous champagne labels, without the hefty price-tag. It is incredibly popular with the French public – who would rather go for quality than a label alone.
Bonville’s Champagne is a superb food wine. Smooth and creamy with a nice steely backbone, it possesses exquisite structure, weight and balance that are the hallmarks of some of the best vineyard sites of the Blanc de Blancs district – the region’s quality heartland. In fact, as testament to the estate’s quality, Bonville also used to supply grapes to Bollinger no less.
