Shiraz

Shiraz is a red wine producing grape variety and an Australian synonym for the indigenous French grape Syrah. Syrah was brought to Australia in the 19th century and today it is mainly used as a single varietal, as well as being commonly blended with Grenache and Mourvèdre. It is also the most planted variety in Australia and South Australia in particular, with producers such as Penfolds and Two Hands starring.
