Hungary

Hungarian Tokaji is one of the greatest sweet wine styles, and we have some wonderfully fine Tokaji from the Royal Tokaji Wine Company (which was co-founded by wine writer Hugh Johnson in 1990), and the historic Disznókő, which was ranked as a Tokaji first growth way back in 1732.
Tokaji is a great match with cheeses and desserts, being careful to match the level of sweetness (Puttonyos) with the sweetness of the pud; ideally the wine should be slightly sweeter. The higher the number of puttonyos, the sweeter the wine (with 6 being the highest and therefore sweetest).
