Estate Notes

Amelia Park, Margaret River Cabernet/Merlot, 2014 is crafted from select parcels of the very finest regional grapes.

The Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River is predominantly sourced for its consistency in producing rich fruit flavours and a small percentage of this blend is sourced from the Wallcliffe sub-region of Margaret River, located further south, providing subtle and elegant aromatics and fine tannins. Both the warm, maritime climate and the gently rolling topography are perfect for vine growing, paticularly Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. Each parcel is harvested in the coolness of night to maximise freshness, and each parcel then undergoes a seperate cool primary fermentation before maturing and blending. This is done to preserve the characteristics of each vineyard.

Amelia Park is consistently awarded 5 Red Stars in James Halliday's Wine Companion, and is therefore on the list of the Best Wineries in the Margaret River Region and in the top 5% of wineries in Australia.

Reviews

"Matured in French oak for 12 months. The two varieties are locked in combat on the way (part due to oak) and you have to wait for the blackcurrant and redcurrant promised by the bouquet to resonate, mulberry adding its weight." James Halliday
