Tuscany, 2000

2000 was a goodish Tuscan vintage, although irregular weather made it tricky for growers, with periods of heat and rain, and some hail in the central hills.

The wines were generally quite soft and rounded and made for early consumption rather than ageing. Chianti Classico, Montalcino and Montepulciano fared the best.

    Tuscany, Tuscany, Italy

    Optimum Drinking: 2017-2018
Reviewer Rating: 93 - Wine Spectator

"Bright aromas of crushed berry and raspberry, with a hint of mineral. Full-bodied and very round, with lovely velvety tannins and a long finish. Big and boisterous. Almost rustic, but hell, it's a beauty. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc." Wine Spectator
